So This is Christmas

So this is Christmas
But how is it so
My calendar tells me
There are still months yet to go
But we all see Christmas
At least in the stores
With gift tags and paper
And yuletide decor
A very Merry Christmas
All along aisle three
With signs saying buy one
You'll get one for free
And so this is Christmas (in the summer)
It seems kind of wrong (in the autumn)
With sleighbells in August (if you're shopping)
The season's so long (now)
So say happy Christmas (never over)
We all must submit (it's relentless)
You will stash away presents (in such places)
That you will forget (where)
A very Merry Christmas
All the retailers shout
As they're taking money
Straight from your account
And so this is Christmas (it's forever)
Lord, what have we done (it's commercial)
'Cause right when it's over (in December)
Then a new one is begun (yeesh)
And so Christmas burnout (run run Rudolph)
Is what we all feel (so long Santa)
The holiday spirit (farewell Frosty)
Has lost its appeal (now)
A very Merry Christmas
For the people who sell
For them it's more profit
For us it is *beep*
It's September, it's October
It's not Christmas yet
