A TRUE STORY FROM MY TRAGIC YOUTH.

Where do I begin
To tell the story of potato tragedy
I had a senior moment but at twenty-three
A real calamity I'm sure you will agree
Where do I start

At the grocery store
I purchased oil and potatoes to make fries
I took them home and then I cut them down to size
I was about to get a horrible surprise
I wasn't smart

Now at the stove I toggled on the heat
I grabbed a pot to cook that starchy treat
Poured in the oil to get it hot
But when I did it seemed a little viscous
But what the heck, so what it's viscous
In just a short while I'll have my fries

Now the oil's hot
It's time to put all these potatoes in the pot
But when I do the outcome makes me quite distraught
I need to check what's in that bottle that I bought
This isn't right

Feeling kind of fraught
I read the label and it isn't what I thought
My fries are ruined, all my cooking is for naught
It seems it was a jar of syrup that I got
No food tonight
