The song "Five Minutes" by Lorrie Morgan tells the tale of a woman who, after years in a relationship, parks her suitcases by the front door and tells her fella "you've got five minutes to figure out what it'll take to get me to stay, or else I'm outta here." I felt it needed a reply.

You tell me that you're leaving
That you can't take any more
You say I'm disbelieving
As you're telling me the score

Baby you've gone crazy
I haven't got a doubt
So, I hope the door won't hit you
On the way out

Don't let the door hit you
While carrying your bags out of here
Don't let the door hit you
Just grab your stuff and then disappear
I wish you well, I hope you find
Someone who'll put up with your pout
Don't let the door hit you
On the way out

You tell me things are different
I'm not the same old guy
Then you give me ultimatums
And just minutes to reply

The fantasy you're living
Has now become insane
And all that you've done lately
Is moan and complain

Don't let the door hit you
While carrying your bags out of here
Don't let the door hit you
Just leave behind the bottles of beer
I wish you well, I hope you find
Someone who likes the way you shout
Don't let the door hit you
On the way out

You say it's not the same now
The years have changed my ways
You better check a mirror
Because the things you say
Apply to you as well most every day

Don't let the door hit you
While carrying your bags out of here
Don't let the door hit you
And just ignore the sound of my cheers
I wish you well, I hope you find
Somebody you can lead about
Don't let the door hit you
On the way out

Don't let the door hit you
On the way out
